Children screaming on flights? Babies crying? These may become a thing of the past as Etihad Airways has now introduced the concept of in-flight nannies. The airlines is hiring 500 British-style nannies, called ‘flying nannies’ to cater to children on long flights by the end of this year, according to the Daily Mail.

All staff will receive training at the famous nanny school Norland College in Bath, Somerset. Aubrey Tiedt, vice president of guest services at Etihad Airways, said, “Flying with a young family can be a daunting task, even for the most experienced travelers.”

“The ‘flying nanny’ role demonstrates our understanding of our guests’ needs and our commitment to making the journey as relaxing and comfortable as possible,” she added.

Roles of the ‘flying nannies’, who will be easily identifiable due to their orange aprons, include serving meals, and offering activities and games to keep children preoccupied.
