KARACHI: International buyer Ruquiya Khan has brought Judith Leiber to Pakistan. When asked about the assortment, Khan said, “This is the current collection of Judith Leiber that I have brought in from L.A.” Khan is an independent buyer who has been based in the US for the last 25 years. She has earlier brought Indian textiles, as well as Bangladeshi Jamdanis, to Lahore. She also stocks for Sana Safinaz in Los Angeles.
But why bring Judith Leiber to Pakitan? “These are popular bags, internationally,” Khan asserts, “Be it the Emmys, the Oscars or even the fashion weeks, these are the most popular ones on the runaway, and the red carpet events. I can see that people here are already more aware of these bags, and with the wedding season fast approaching, this would be the right time to market these here.” For the discerning buyer, these bags are well worth the hefty price tag.
