Fashion fads may come and go, but colours black and white have stood the test of time. They’re classy. They’re chic. And they’re inarguably the ultimate combination.
Don’t get us wrong, we’re all for vibrant hues, funky tribal prints and all that jazz, but the timeless elegance of black and white remains unparalleled. Keeping her look simple, and might we add, rocking it, Amber Liaqat stuck to fashion basics at the launch of YOC’A and HSY’s designer furniture. Some may say that she played it safe with predictable outfit and accessory choices, but we say that playing it safe (if this is what its product is) is good sometimes!
Here is a breakdown of her look. Feel free to follow suit!
Hair
We are anti-dead straight hair and like Amber, you too can work the out-of-the-bed, paddle dried hair look. If you have frizzy hair, apply one to two pumps of L’Oréal Liss Ultime Serum (Rs2,500) to shampooed, towel-dried hair, and voila!
Outfit
Tone down your make-up with a white tweed blazer, which you can buy from Zara for approximately Rs3,500. We love the narrow black pants that Amber has paired the blazer with. You can buy them from Zara or Forever21 (Rs2,000 to Rs5,000).
Make-up
Use Clarins Waterproof eye pencil (Rs2,000) to define your eyes and Colour Tattoo metallic cream base eyeshadow from Maybelline (Rs3,500). Get glossy lips and perky cheeks like Amber’s by using Sushi Kiss lip colour by Mac (Rs4,000) and Revlon’s PhotoReady cream blush in Pinched (Rs1,250). Although Amber hasn’t enhanced the volume of her eyelashes, you can use Maybelline’s Colossal Volume Mascara (Rs800) to add extra oomph to your make-up. To jazz up your look, paint your nails with OPI’s Chick Flick Cherry nail colour (Rs1,000), which is one of our personal favourites.
Accessories and shoes
A black and gold crossbody bag never goes out of style. Give your look a complete finish with it. You can buy a crossbody of your choice from Forever21 (Rs2,000 plus). You can buy a shimmery gold ring like the one Amber is wearing from Accessorize from nearly Rs1,000. One can never go wrong with black pumps! Splurge once and buy a pair of Michael Kors Caroline Suede Logo Pumps (Rs14,000). Although pricey, they will last you a lifetime!
