The 20th annual Life OK Screen Awards, one of Bollywood’s biggest award nights, saw B-town beauties hit the red carpet in their finest gowns. The first awards night of the season captured the crème-de-la-crème from the film industry.
Deepika Padukone
Deepika Padukone was the cynosure of all eyes as she stood tall in a beautiful jet black, Alexander McQueen mermaid gown with gold detailing on a high-collared neck. The geometric golden earrings and rings completed her sharp look. However, her hair was pulled back into a sleek puff and the lip colour just wasn’t right. The hair needed to be softer as the outfit itself was the bold element of the look. Deeps has had a couple of misses lately, hope she gets her mojo back soon!
Sonakshi Sinha
Sonakshi Sinha stole the limelight in a figure-hugging gown. The Lootera beauty was gorgeous in a nude-coloured Amit GT mermaid gown with sheer panels and sequin detailing all over. Light waves, minimalistic make-up, hot pink lips and a metallic clutch finished off her look. She was surely among the best-dressed celebrities that night.
Kalki Koechlin
Kalki Koechlin stood out in her Nikhil Thampi sari gown. Her mustard-and-black outfit looked elegant and the net detailing that allowed the petite actor to show off her legs. The knotted pallu added to Koechlin’s edgy look on the red carpet and the belt on the waist gave her somewhat of a warrior princess look. She nailed the get-up.
Huma Qureshi
The one who made a unique style statement on the red carpet was Dedh Ishqiya actor Huma Qureshi. She wore a stunning, maroon off-shoulder slit gown by Nikhil Thampi. The side-swept hairdo and the bold chunky golden ear cuffs helped Qureshi add the much-needed dramatic effect to her outfit.
Swara Bhaskar
The spotlight-stealer on the red carpet was Swara Bhaskar in her mint Rabani and Rakha fusion sari gown. We were simply wowed by the actor’s ultra-classy attire. The updo and minimalistic jewelry by Renu Oberoi was a brilliant fashion-forward idea, letting one truly focus on the look without being distracted by too many other elements.
Tamanna
When spotted on the catalogue, this particular Carmen Marc Valco gown did not seem to be too eye-catching, but our effortless style diva, Tamanna, knew exactly how to pull off this head-to-toe, black and white printed attire. She looked chic in the side-swept hair and complemented it well with light make-up and a bright pink lipstick.
