The Sindh Festival, inaugurating at Mohenjo Daro on February 1, aims to educate the masses about the centuries-old culture of peace, tolerance, bravery and the true spirit of the region. “The Sindh Festival will be a ray of hope in the darkness of terrorism,” stated Bilawal Bhutto, the organiser of this festival.
Actor Humaima Malick has been selected to host the opening ceremony of this 15-day, multi-city extravaganza. Sharing her sentiments with The Express Tribune, Malick says, “It’s an honour to be associated with such a noble cause. I have never hosted an event before. This is my first time and I am glad it’s for a cause that is so close to my heart,” she said. “I am really glad that for the first time a young leader like Bilawal has taken the initiative of reviving our own civilization and culture. It is culture which conditions our attitudes towards various issues we deal with on day to day basis. As a society, this was a much needed event to broaden our outlook and own our identities. I wish Bilawal all the best for this effort and hope that this tradition continues in future.”
