The royal family is protesting yet again against Italian magazine Chi which has published the pictures of the Duchess of Cambridge wearing a bikini, baring her baby bump on a public beach in the Caribbean island of Mustique. Last year, Kate Middleton’s topless photographs were taken while she was relaxing on a sun lounger and were published in French magazine Closer.
Following the release of Middleton’s pictures, Australian weekly Woman’s Day, announced that it will also publish the pictures. “It wasn’t a hard decision to run these photos. She is on a public beach and she was mingling with holidaymakers,” said the editor of Woman’s Day, Fiona Connolly, reports the Guardian. “There are other holidaymakers in the photos as well. It’s a very different situation to the nude photos, there is no photographer hiding in the bushes and she is not inside a private villa.”
A St James’s Palace spokesperson was quoted expressing the royal family’s anguish, saying, “We are disappointed that photographs of the duke and duchess on a private holiday look likely to be published overseas. This is a clear breach of the couple’s right to privacy.”
