A hair-raising challenge

LOS ANGELES: It seems actor Jared Leto’s long and lustrous ombre locks are hard to manage. His hair stylist Chase Kusero considers ensuring Leto doesn’t look too feminine is the most difficult part of her job, reports dailymail.co.uk. “It’s really important that he doesn’t look like a woman — that’s the biggest challenge,” Kusero told Into The Gloss.

The celebrity hair dresser says that he doesn’t want to cut Leto’s hair for his 86th Academy Awards appearance. “(Jared and I) were going to shock everybody and have him show up at the Academy Awards with a haircut, but his hair looks so good that we don’t really want to cut it,” Kusero said, also delving into which style he’s gravitating towards for the ceremony.

“The only thing I can say is that right now, I’m all about the wet look,” he said. Leto has been nominated for the Best Actor in a Supporting Role for Dallas Buyers Club. Kusero said he wanted to do something with “a side part this time, something cleaner,” for the biggest night in movies.

Leto sported a pony-bun at the 71st Golden Globe Awards, where he was honoured with the Best Actor in a Supporting Role award for his role as Rayon, an AIDS-infected transgender drug addict in Dallas Buyers Club.

“I want to try to get a bun that’s nice and small, more like a traditional knot. The pony-bun press was kind of funny. I don’t know if he liked all that or not. We both agree that it has to look like something he would do himself,” Kusero said.

Seeing as a haircut is out of the question for Leto, we can’t wait to see that gorgeous head of hair all styled up this Sunday for the Academy awards.
