Like the Greek god Samson whose strength lay in his locks, both men and women share a common fear of losing hair. And justifiably so. Hair is an accessory that everyone likes to flaunt. And more than that, it is reflective of our internal health.
While hair fall is inevitable, especially for men, it is a condition that can be curtailed. According to askmen.com, half of the hair on a man’s head will be gone before it becomes cosmetically visible.
But fear not! To prevent yourselves from going badly bald, you can put to use five of the following natural products and tips, as recommended by the Times of India.
Take hot oil treatments
Heat up any natural oil (olive, coconut or canola) so that it is warm, but not too hot. Gently massage the oil into your scalp. Put on a shower cap and leave it on for an hour, after which you can shampoo your hair.
Use natural juices
Rubbing your scalp with garlic, onion or ginger juice can prove to be effective. Leave it on overnight and wash it thoroughly in the morning for best results.
Massage your head
Massaging your scalp for a few minutes daily will help stimulate circulation, which keeps hair follicles active. Use a few drops of lavender or bay essential oil in an almond or sesame oil base to improve circulation.
Use antioxidants
Apply warm green tea (two bags brewed in one cup of water) on your scalp and leave this mixture on for an hour, after which you can rinse your hair. Green tea contains antioxidants that prevent hair loss and subsequently, boost growth.
Meditate
Usually, the main cause for hair loss is stress and tension. Meditation can help in the restoration of hormonal balance and stress release. And stop stressing over losing hair because that may also be exacerbating the problem!
