MUMBAI: Actor Chitrangada Singh, who is married to golfer Jyoti Singh Randhawa, says being emotionally satisfied in a relationship is extremely important to her — just as it is for her on-screen character Anushka in upcoming film I, Me aur Main.
“Anushka is very similar to me because even when Kapil Sharma, who is a first-time director, narrated the script to me, he also said, ‘Think of her [Anushka] as similar to yourself. I know from outside you are very composed and in control’,” the 36-year-old said in an interview.
“But somewhere inside, I think I am so much like Anushka because like her, relationships are very important to me. To feel satisfied emotionally is very important to me,” she added.
The movie, releasing March 1, also features actors John Abraham and Prachi Desai.
Chitrangada said though John plays a selfish man in the movie, his character is adorable.
“It is a very adorable character. Even though he is a jerk, but he is a very adorable jerk. He does not know how mean and selfish he is and does not realise what he is doing,” she said.
The film is also produced by John himself.
“Sometimes he is very caring. On the sets also, as he is co-producer of the film, so he was very involved, even with the film, music and marketing,” said Chitrangada.
“He is a full-fledged producer now, so he understands all of that and takes the responsibility. It was a lot of fun. He is a very easy guy.”
“The film is releasing on March 1 and March 8 is Women’s Day, so this film is dedicated to all the women. It’s a tribute to women,” John said in an earlier interview.
“Definitely, she will be simple. The beauty about any relationship is its simplicity. Just settle down with the one with whom you have a connection,” said John describing his kind of girl.
