Established Pakistani designers who have already made a mark in the local fashion industry are now planning on hitting the international market with a fashion show in London. Fashion Parade 2014 is slated to be held on June 9 at Kensington Palace. Besides well-known Pakistani names, Fashion Parade has roped in some big international designers.

According to a press release, the event will also be showcasing the British fashion designer, Romero Bryan. He will bring to the ramp his luxury London-based brand in support of Great Ormand St Hospital. The brand, which is supported by the Princes Trust, has a strong international presence. It has been part of several fashion shows around the world. Recently, the designer collaborated with Dubai-based company, Savior Vivre to address the needs of the royal families and high net worth individuals in the United Arab Emirates.

Along with Romero Bryan, the celebrated multi-label boutique in London, Aashni and Co will also be showcasing at the event. From Aashni and Co, designer Anamika Khanna who is known for her contemporary fashion prowess and embroidered aesthetic detailing will be showcasing at the Fashion Parade. Aashni Shah, who is looking forward to the event, said, “When I received a call from Mustang Production inviting Aashni and Co to showcase one of our designers at the Kensington Palace, I knew it was an opportunity that I couldn’t miss. I broke the news to Anamika Khanna as I knew if anyone would fit in a contemporary show, it had to be her.”

“We (Aashni and Co and Anamika Khanna) will be showcasing an edit of the couture collection that was seen this season. It is a beautiful blend of stripped metal with old world zardozi and the silhouettes are extremely flattering,” she added.

Romero Bryan, on the other hand, specialises in hand-finished silk chiffon dresses and tops.  These pieces are known for their masterful drapery. Every season, the designer’s signature pieces are given new details.

Adnan Qazi, CEO of Silver Lemon Media, as one of the co-organisers of the event is ecstatic about having Romero Bryan as part of the show. “I felt his designs are a unique piece of art and would complement the jewellery. We wanted this segment to really stand out. Our styling team did a fabulous job in sourcing these gorgeous dresses,” said Qazi.
