NEW DELHI:

Actor Abhay Deol’s career trajectory may have seen more lows than highs, but he seems undeterred by failure. After taking up unconventional roles on-screen, he ventured towards production with his self-starring film One By Two, which bombed at the box office. But undeterred, he intends to continue striving to prove his mettle in the industry.

One By Two, which featured his real-life girlfriend Preeti Desai, was made for INR150 million and only managed to garner between INR12.5 and INR15 million. But for Abhay, life’s misses offer greater room for learning as compared to its hits.

“Nothing is a mistake in life. A mistake only happens when you don’t learn from it and I believe that people learn more from their misses than hits. So, it [One By Two] was a learning experience for me,” he said.

The actor stated that one failed venture can’t prevent him from opting for new things in future. “You can’t quit. Why wouldn’t you want to produce other films especially after learning so much from your first production venture? [It makes you] better equipped for your second project,” he commented.

The Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara actor is now working on his next production titled Bounty Hunters. Once again, he is producing it as well as acting in it. If reports are to be believed, he has joined hands with a Britain-based production house to co-produce the film. But Abhay wishes to wait before confirming anything.

“That was something that the producer announced, but there was no movement happening on that front. I haven’t personally spoken about that as I need a few things to be cleared before I talk about it. And that hasn’t happened, so there is no point of talking about it,” he said.

Abhay is also looking forward to a busy year ahead with his acting projects. What’s also taking up his time is an eco-friendly home in Goa. “I’m making it as green as possible. There are people who will rate the house and tell us how green it is,” he said, sharing the concept behind making the house.

“We will follow up and make sure that it stays green and there are those who will be giving me ideas on how I can use the power and energy in the best way possible,” added the conscientious Abhay.

With nine years of experience in Bollywood under his belt, he was last appreciated for his role in the film Raanjhanna (2013), also starring actors Sonam Kapoor and Dhanush. He made his acting debut with the film Socha Na Tha (2005) and since then, the 38 year old has depicted diverse roles in films such as Honeymoon Travels Pvt Ltd (2007), Ek Chalis Ki Last Local (2007), Manorama Six Feet Under (2007), Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye! (2008), Dev D (2009) and Chakravyuh (2012).
