How to perfect the cat eye

A fresh face accented with classic black winged eyeliner is our ultimate choice. Getting the perfect wing can be a little tricky though, however, just follow these steps suggested by make-up wiz Lauren Conrad and divinecalorine.com and tada!

Use a black liquid liner with a very thin brush. Carefully drag the brush along your lashline starting from the top inner corner of your eye towards the outer corner. Follow the natural shape of your eye. If you try changing the shape, it actually makes your eyes look smaller.

Next, create the entire flick shape by drawing another line that meets with the first line to create a point. It’s best to draw this shape first and make sure you’re happy with it; if you’re not, start over.

Now, go into the inner corner of your eye and begin drawing a line that extends all the way over to meet that second line, finalising the overall shape of your winged liner. When you’re drawing along your lash line, let the pen or brush fluidly move along the curve of your eyeball.

All that’s left now is to colour in the shape you have created. The firmer you press the brush, the thicker the line will be. Once you’re done, don’t blink for at least 10-15 seconds to allow the liner to dry.

After you have lined both eyes, be sure to compare the liner on each eye. If they are not even, take a q-tip and lightly drag the line along the eye to make it symmetrical to the other eye.
