Actor Kangana Ranaut, who was away from the limelight to pursue her filmmaking course in New York, is back with a bang. However, she finds paparazzi “intimidating” and is still adjusting to all the attention, reported IANS.
As she walked the ramp for designer Anju Modi at the ongoing Couture Week, she tripped but took it sportingly. She mesmerised the audience with her beautiful smile and looked like a true diva in Modi’s creation.
“I am just back from New York. It was like going back to school. This is my first public outing after coming back. So I took it in a very easy way, but it was not. Coming back to paparazzi was intimidating. I couldn’t believe I was back here,” she said.
The Queen star, who was wearing a heavily embroidered black lehanga-choli, said she was an avid supporter of Indian wear. “It’s not that I don’t support Indian creation. In fact, I wore a lot of AM:PM (a designer label) during the promotion of Queen. They wanted me to wear Indian clothes,” she said.
“However, it’s sad that we are getting westernised. The way parties are hosted, the way we dress up, everything has become so westernised. If I go to a party wearing an Indian dress like this, I don’t know how the media would react,” she added.
Kangana has created a niche for herself with films like Fashion and Queen and has garnered appreciation for her out-of-the-box choices. She is a girl with a strong willpower and conviction and now she is well on the way to achieving her dream and has taken her first step by completing a two-month course in screenplay writing from the prestigious New York Film Academy. Since the B-town beauty had to promote her film Queen, the actor was in New York for a month only. She completed the rest of her course over Skype from India. In an interview the actor has said, “I had been planning this for long. I am keen to explore new avenues, especially script and dialogue writing for films,” reported Bollywood Life. Kangana took all her batch mates and professors for a dinner. It was her way of expressing gratitude to her friends and teachers, who helped her during the course. Kangana’s professors appreciated her for her dedication. “She was surprised when she was praised for her hard work. Post the dinner, the director of the course presented her the course completion certificate,” says a source, reported the Hindustan Times. Sharing her experience, the actor says, “Going to a film school was like a dream come true and my class clapped for my final presentation.”
