This picture encapsulates the true soul of Pakistani cinema — what it used to be and what it is today. Shaan is standing next to a framed portrait of his father, late Riaz Shahid. Riaz Shahid was one of the finest filmmakers of his era and made popular films such as Zarqa, Shaheed, Farangi, and Yeh Aman. Today, his son Shaan has come forward and evolved from being the lone surviving leading man of Lollywood, to becoming the face of the reinvented Pakistani cinema. Here’s to hoping that Shaan adds to his father’s legacy with his upcoming directorial venture Arth 2.
