Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan is humbled by all those who refer to him as the King of Bollywood or King Khan. Recently, when Salman Khan was asked if he now feels like the new King of Bollywood after giving back-to-back hits, he said: “You can say whatever you want. But there is a king (hinting at Shahrukh) anyways. You have a problem with him being the king? I don’t have a problem with him being the king.”
Shahrukh is deeply touched by the kind of respect he has gained from his contemporaries and fans alike after being in the industry all these years. When asked to comment on what Salman said, Shahrukh said: “We all are kind to each other. We respect each other. I think what we have achieved [in our career] and I will include myself also in it. I think whatever we have earned [name] due to our hard work. We have been entertaining for many years,” reported the Deccan Chronicle.
“We don’t disrespect anyone, so all these titles and numbers don’t really matter. I think we all just hope our next film does well. So if you ask me a question like this, I am thankful to anyone who thinks of me like this anywhere in the world. God has been kind to me,” he added, avoiding taking Salman’s name.
The actor also dodged answering questions about Salman Khan-starrer Kick.
The conflict between the two ruling Khans has always provided fodder to gossip mills since their fall out at Katrina Kaif’s birthday bash. The two patched up at an iftar party last year.
Neither of them has ever bad-mouthed the other and have always wished success and happiness for each other.
