MUMBAI: The news of actor Minissha Lamba gearing up to enter reality show Bigg Boss as a contestant this year came as a surprise to many. She said her decision is driven by “multiple reasons,” which she will only reveal during the course of the show.
When asked if she has an agenda like most other members of the house, she said, “I will talk about all these things on the show. There are multiple reasons behind why I am going on this show. Maybe, I will discuss them on the show itself.”
The show’s eighth instalment begins on Sunday and Minissha is among the 12 contestants who will be confined to a space for three months under constant scrutiny and without any contact with the outside world. “When Bigg Boss ends for me, I will consider it as a chapter of my life that’s behind me,” she commented. “I have watched season six and seven closely. It’s the most entertaining show I have ever watched,” added Minissha, who is known for her stint in the film Bachna Ae Haseeno (2008).
She said that Bigg Boss is not scripted and all the drama in it is real. “Honestly, from being an actor and knowing the things I know, certain situations and things can’t be created. They just happen. It’s not possible to script [such a show] because they can’t put many good actors in one show [and expect them to] follow their lines,” she explained.
The 29-year-old understands the game of television ratings well and acknowledged that if the audience gets bored, they will simply switch the channel. “You have to give something entertaining and gripping. If people are put in a realistic and highly pressurised situation, it is natural for them to act out of character at times, so there is nothing wrong with that.”
“I have my mental list of dos and don’ts, which I will remind myself of on the show, if any such situation comes up,” she stated. Rest, she’s going to play the game by being herself. Talking about the show’s host, Salman Khan, she said: “He is the best host on Indian television and especially for a show like this. He easily adapts to situations and becomes a friend, mentor and a man captaining the ship. He does that all well.”
