A federal complaint has been lodged against The Walt Disney Company by Latin-American author Isabella Tanikumi, who claims that the corporation plagiarised her life story for its blockbuster production Frozen (2013). And it seems like Yanikumi is not willing to ‘let it go’, as she has sued the company for a whopping $250 million, reported E! Online.

Tanikumi stated that the popular animated children’s movie was not based on Hans Christian Andersen’s fairy tale The Snow Queen, but on her 2010 autobiography titled Yearnings of the Heart. She said that her book centralises her life growing up in the Andean mountains of Peru.

Tanikumi’s attorney, William T Anastasio, said, “Ms Tanikumi is a very private individual. As the case moves through the courts, I am sure more information will become available concerning her claims.” Disney is yet to respond to a request for comment.

The Oscar-winning film Frozen tells the story of an ice princess who curses her home with infinite winter, according to IMDb. Her sister, Anna, then sets off on a journey along with a mountain man, his reindeer and a snowman to alter the weather condition.
