Actor Katie Holmes, who will be seen in the upcoming black comedy Miss Meadows, is set to break new grounds in her career. “I don’t have any fear now, I don’t have a lot of rules for myself, and I don’t take myself that seriously,” said Holmes, reported IANS.
“I feel ready for new challenges,” said the 35-year-old, whose Miss Meadows is slated for release on November 14. She shared that her career is her focus for now, she does not want her 2012 divorce from actor Tom Cruise to overshadow the person she is.
“I don’t want that moment in my life to define me… to be who I am. I don’t want that to be what I’m known as,” she commented. “I was an actor before, an actor during [my marriage] and an actor now,” she added. Holmes’ life also centres around her eight-year-old daughter Suri, who “means everything to [her].” “I’m learning every day and I have been since the minute I became a mom,” she shared.
The actor will also make her directorial debut and feature in the film adaptation of artist-writer Annie Weatherwax’s book All We Had, Reuters reported. The novel follows a mother and her teenage daughter as their landlord kicks them out of their home, and they take off in a battered car looking for a better life.
