It’s been raining weddings in B-Town, and the striking faces of the silver screen are transforming shaadi occasions into masterclass red carpet events.
Stars dazzled in all their finery at the Mumbai wedding reception of Shirin, producer Ali Morani’s daughter, and Uday Singh, brother of Heropanti actor Vikram Singh. While the wedding was a close-knit affair, the couple was showered with blessings from the who’s who of B-town.
Anushka Sharma
Wearing a Sabyasachi suit, the PK star was decked up from head to toe. The actor permeated a feminine vibe in a long-length mint green anarkali, by Bollywood’s beloved designer. The regal suit paired with a contrasting velvet dupatta in bright red did wonders in livening up her ensemble. A matching lipper, smoky eyes, tied-back hair and embroidered khussa shoes kept her look ethnic and interesting.
Esha Gupta
Keeping it youthful and appealing, Esha chose a light grey lehenga that sat high on her miniscule waist, and a full-sleeved crop-top like choli by Payal Singhal. Though the ensemble was conspicuously dull, the star managed to maintain her in-vogue image by carrying the colour superbly. Sporting nominal makeup, the star went for an au naturale appearance that hit right on dot. Accessorising with a delicate necklace consisting of ruby stones framing her neckline, the Jannat 2 star was raring to go.
Jacqueline Fernandez
The Kick beauty took the 70s route with a sultry balloon-sleeved lace choli teemed with light pink lace mesh sari and partly pinned-back hair. The star tried to take a calculated risk that didn’t entirely create a buzz. The net mesh though accentuated the star’s enviable hour-glass frame, the over-sized white floral pattern over the muted pink background looked like a disorderly mess. It could have been a hit ensemble with a more suitable lehenga.
Malaika Aurora
The beauty who truly swept us off our feet was was none other than Malaika Arora Khan. Enveloped in a neon-ish bright-pink saree, she flaunted her curves to their full potential. The glitzy-silver blouse harmonised her vivid outfit and her jet-black manicure added viva-glam feel to her look. The Chaiyya Chaiyya stunner rocked diamond studded statement earrings and a wrist cuff. Keeping her make-up basic, she chose a fuchsia lip, bold brows and bronzer to structure her face.
Priyanka Chopra
Certainly not her best red-carpet style, Priyanka tried to pull off the iconic Rekha look in a traditional gold shot sari. Sorry, didn’t work. The strappy red blouse with engraved silver sequins was eye-catching but didn’t do much to epitomise the Mary Kom actor’s charm. The saving grace were the gold jhumka, a chunky gold-and-pearl necklace, a characteristic pink pout and red roses peeping out of her hair-do.
