Beating traffic on the way to New York’s John F. Kennedy International airport is no longer a pipe dream. Gotham Air is here to save the day for New Yorkers’and it might just cost you less than $100.
Gotham Air is an airport shuttle service which one can use to beat traffic to catch your flight – for less than $100 – that too on a helicopter. You’re practically VIP with this service, the Independent reported.
“It hopes to open up helicopter-travel to a broader customer base.”
Tim Hayes, the chief executive of Gotham Air, says helicopters should not just be restricted to the “super elite”, and should also be made available to the “general public”.
“It’s our belief that people who want to charter helicopters to take them to private airports already know how to do this,” he said.
A setback though is that it will only offer flights to JFK and Newark Liberty Airport from Manhattan. Further, the initial price of less than $100 is only applicable to first-time fliers, after that, the service will cost you between $199 and $219.
Gotham Air, which is not a direct air carrier and is operated by Helicopter Flight Services (HFS), claimed that their service will cut travel time from two hours to just six minutes.
Passengers aboard Gotham Air will not only be able to catch their flight in time, they will also travel in style, sit in luxury leather seats and indulge in in-flight food.
“We want to give as many people as possible the chance to experience a helicopter flight,” Hayes said.
