Model Zara Peerzada and director/screenwriter Mashal Peerzada were seen flaunting a minimalist yet uber chic look at Juggan Kazim’s engagement lunch held at Cosa Nostra, over the weekend.
Here is what our charge sheet has to say about their style.
Zara Peerzada
Hair and Make-up
We adore how the fashionable brunette Zara keeps it on trend with a perfectly done, low-lying braid. The mid-part, front twist does justice to her fine and delicate features. While we love the rosy pink lips, a touch of some ginger pink dust on the cheeks would have definitely accentuated that jaw line. Her well-arched eyebrows and those shimmery cat eyes are bang on; however, if we may say so, a little hint of kohl would have taken her goddess look from level nine to 10.
Clothes
Zara’s peachy pink cowl neck kurta is a breath of fresh air in this boiling hot summer season. Paired up with plain white pants, the breezy pink colour of her top perfectly compliments her subtle make-up. Although the simple and sophisticated approach managed to catch our attention, it does ask for a small dose of embellishment to add an extra bit of oomph, much-needed for a formal event.
Accessories and Shoes
The simplicity of the outfit is contrasted well with some chunky gold jewelry. The geometric-inspired, gold necklace and that traditional bunch of delicate gold bangles are scoring high on our style-o-meter. Zara is sporting a Magul for Nasreen Sheikh clutch which seems to clash with her overall outfit. A dull gold-and-glittery or a white clutch with a tinge of pink would have been a better option. The nude patent peep toes look too heavy on the feet and we are not big fans of the out-of-place, silver anklet. Overall, Zara looks simple and elegant needing just some slight nips and tucks, here and there.
Mashal Peerzada
Hair and Make up
Messy hair can be a perfect style statement only when it’s held together in the right way and unfortunately Mashal Peerzada has faltered with her choice of hair style. Her hairstyle is shouting out loud for some volume spray and a comb and that snake-like strand of hair on her face definitely needs to be pinned on the side. A loose messy side bun with a side-part instead would have been perfect for her round, bubbly face. Mashal has taken the ‘wear nothing but a smile,’ notion very seriously. Her nude peach lipstick falls flat and makes her look pale and weary. We feel that a deep cherry red lipstick with a peachy blush and lightly-lined eyes would have made her look fresh and trendy.
Clothes
Mashal is wearing a zig-zag self-embossed white kurta. We are in love with the contemporary print and silky texture. The cropped white tights, however, are too casual a choice for an engagement lunch and seem to create a confusion as to whether the kurta has been worn as a western dress or an eastern outfit. The outfit would have looked much better if it was instead paired with white, silk cigarette pants.
Accessories and Shoes
The trendy long beady necklace is well-placed on the white kurta though those multi-coloured, dangling earrings look pretty odd. We advise a pair of small, gold and pearl studs instead. The big white ring on her fore-finger does not add much spark either and those wrists are crying out loud for a delicate, stringy bracelet. Those glittery silver and gold heels from Insignia are a hit!
